Small business responsibility during Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

March 16, 2020

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has everyone anxious. We ask that you be guided by facts and do your part to take measures to be safe and consider the impact on commerce and act responsibly as our community is dependent on it!

The small business community needs your ongoing support. We simply cannot allow our fears to get in the way of commerce and its impact on our local community.

The situation can be devastating for our small businesses and we are all in this together!

Maybe you don’t want to go out to dinner, but you may be able to support the restaurants and retailers by grabbing take-out or ordering a gift card from your favorite establishment online to use at a later time.

Before you cut back on employee’s hours, take a moment to think about a project you’ve been meaning to get at for years and get at it with that employee. Some businesses that are closed are taking this time to freshen up their space with a new coat of paint, offering employees an opportunity to still earn wages while holding a paint party.

Many events have been cancelled and we must consider how we can still support businesses that are severely impacted by lost revenue. Can you reschedule the party and put down a deposit for a later date? We have some creative business owners in Central PA that are vigilant at making it through this volatile time offering catering to homes that were never offered before and other outside of the box ideas to keep their doors open for the long haul.

In other words, please be safe; but please don’t shut down. You and our entire community will be the better for it.

PaySmart will remain vigilant in keeping our staff and clients safe.  We highly recommend going direct deposit and paperless to avoid any disruptions in payroll delivery.  For more information contact our office.
